This business travel insurance is designed to give business executives medical and travel related insurance cover for themselves and their families when traveling. We can offer cover to U.S. citizens traveling outside the country and to non-U.S. citizens traveling outside their own home country. In both cases, spouses and children can be added to the policies.
Taking a vacation/making a trip without visitor insurance can be costly. How would you pay for your hospital stay if you become sick? How much would it cost you to replace all your stuff if your luggage gets lost at the airport? Our visitor insurance policies are designed to give you financial protection for healthcare and a range of other travel related costs. So, if something bad happens you will not be out of pocket.
Our business travel insurance policies work on an annual basis. The plan will cover you for any trips you take within a year on the basis that each trip lasts a maximum of 30 days.
Our business travel insurance policies give you a choice of benefits to suit you, your trip and your budget. For example you will receive a range of benefits with our policies, including:
One way to manage the costs of your business travel insurance plan is to look at the characteristics of the plan (such as the allowed deductibles and coinsurance).
The deductible is the amount you will have to pay before your travel insurance plan takes over if you need to make a claim. So, for example, our plans come with a deductible of $250 for each illness covered in our policies. If your medical treatment costs $1,000, you will be liable for the first $250 and we will pay the balance of $750. This deductible will be waived in cases of claims that relate to covered accidents.
Coinsurance is the percentage share of healthcare/medical costs arranged between you and the insurer. When you are traveling outside the USA or Canada there is no coinsurance charge. If traveling in the USA or Canada, our plans pay 90% of eligible expenses for the first $5,000 and 100% up to the policy maximum for treatment given by a member of the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). For treatment outside the network the share is set at 80% for the first $5,000 and 100% up to the policy maximum.
So, for example, if you were to have treatment with a member of the PPO network that cost $8,000 and you had a zero deductible your insurer would cover 80% of the cost of the first $5,000 ($4,000) and you would cover the remaining 20% ($1,000). The insurer would then also pay the remaining cost of $3,000 provided it is within the visitor insurance policy maximum.
Our business travel insurance plans are available for U.S. citizens who wish to travel outside of the country and for non-U.S. citizens looking to travel outside their home country. Policies can also be extended to include spouses and children.
Plans are available for people under the age of 76 with a maximum policy benefit of $1,000,000. If you are aged between 70-75 your maximum benefit is capped at $50,000. To take out a travel insurance plan you must be a member of an individual or group medical plan and you must travel frequently outside your home country/the U.S. as applicable during the course of any given year.
