Visitor Insurance - Non US Citizens

What is Visitor Insurance (Non USA)?

This visitor insurance is designed for non-US citizens who are planning on traveling/taking a vacation outside of their home country for a minimum of 10 days and up to a maximum of two years.

Why you need Visitor Insurance?

Taking a vacation/making a trip without visitor insurance can be costly. How would you pay for your hospital stay if you become sick? How much would it cost you to replace all your stuff if your luggage gets lost at the airport? Our visitor insurance policies are designed to give you financial protection for healthcare and a range of other travel related costs. So, if something bad happens you will not be out of pocket.

Visitor Insurance Coverage Periods

Our visitor insurance (USA) policies can be taken out for both short and long visits. The minimum coverage period is 10 days and the maximum possible is two years. You can choose to pay for your visitor insurance coverage on either monthly or daily rates.

Visitor Insurance Benefits

Our visitor insurance policies give you a choice of benefits to suit you, your trip and your budget. For example you will receive a range of benefits with our policies, including:

Other benefits are available as optional extras (see below).

Visitor Insurance Plan Characteristics - deductibles and coinsurance

One way to manage the costs of your visitor insurance plan is to look at the characteristics of the plan (such as the allowed deductibles and coinsurance).

The deductible is the amount you are willing to pay before your policy takes over if you need to make a claim. Our deductible options range from $0-2,500. So, if you choose a zero deductible you won’t have to pay anything towards the cost of your claim and if you choose one of $250 then you pay the first $250 of your claim.

Coinsurance is the percentage share of healthcare/medical costs arranged between you and the insurer. When you are traveling outside the USA or Canada there is no coinsurance charge. If traveling in the USA or Canada, our plans pay 90% of eligible expenses for the first $5,000 and 100% up to the policy maximum for treatment given by a member of the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). For treatment outside the network the share is set at 80% for the first $5,000 and 100% up to the policy maximum.

So, for example, if you were to have treatment with a member of the PPO network that cost $8,000 and you had a zero deductible your insurer would cover 80% of the cost of the first $5,000 ($4,000) and you would cover the remaining 20% ($1,000). The insurer would then also pay the remaining cost of $3,000 provided it is within the visitor insurance policy maximum.

Visitor Insurance Plan Conditions

visitor insurance (non-USA) plans are available for non-US citizens who wish to travel outside of their home country. Our plans are available for adults of 18+ and can be tailored to include children and other family members. Please note that our optional Extreme Sports Rider policy is only available to those aged under 50 and that our maximum coverage for those aged 80+ is $10,000

In general terms standard insurance plans will not allow coverage for pre-existing medical conditions. However, we can offer cover on the basis that the person with the condition is aged under 70, is medically able to travel and that they also take out T.R.I.P. Lite cover (see below).

Visitor Insurance Optional Coverage

Our plans also offer a range of optional coverage features. These include:
